Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects (Engineering & Plant Construction)
Overview
This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned Project Manager who thrives in complex, fast-paced industrial environments. You will take ownership of large-scale, multi-phase capital projects—driving execution from concept through commissioning—while influencing strategy, client relationships, and internal performance.
You won’t just manage projects—you’ll shape outcomes, mentor talent, and play a key role in how projects are delivered across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Project Leadership
- Own full lifecycle execution of capital projects across engineering, design, procurement, construction, and startup phases.
- Translate broad project objectives into clear execution strategies aligned with structured front-end planning methodologies.
- Drive schedule, cost, and quality performance with a proactive, solutions-first mindset
Client & Stakeholder Influence. - Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term partnerships grounded in delivery excellence.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively guide decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to growth initiatives through scope development, technical input, and strategic expansion of existing relationships
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution
- Mentor and develop emerging project leaders, strengthening overall team capability
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies that protect timelines and financial outcomes.
- Navigate ambiguity and change with confidence, keeping projects on track under pressure
- Resolve technical and operational challenges with a balanced, business-minded approach
- Planning, Scheduling & Execution Discipline
- Build and manage detailed project schedules across multiple workstreams
- Optimize resource allocation and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Support portfolio-level planning through accurate forecasting and workload visibility
- Financial Ownership
- Manage project financials including budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Understand and influence key financial drivers such as margins, change orders, and cash flow.
- Deliver predictable financial outcomes through disciplined project controls
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline
- Experience in Chemical Processing, Oil/Gas, Bio-Refineries, Agricultural Chem or Food Flavors\Ingredients desirable.
- At Least 8 years of experience managing complex industrial or engineering-driven projects
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi-phase capital projects with minimal oversight
- Strong client-facing experience with the ability to influence and build trust at multiple levels
- Expertise in project controls, scheduling tools, and structured project delivery methodologies
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred
- Willingness to travel up to ~30% depending on project needs
