Company Description Tier 1 Manufacturer in Michigan, a producer of high volume, high product mix components and assemblies is preparing for the next generation technology and innovation for their customers needs. Their reputation to understand, and predict market trends are exceptional and we are looking for a Talented Innovation Strategy Program Manager to lead all development projects for the organization.
Role Description The Innovation Strategy Program Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Detroit Michigan area. This role is responsible for designing, leading, and managing innovation programs that support strategic growth for client organizations, including identifying opportunities, developing roadmaps, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
The Innovation Strategy Program Manager conducts market and competitive research, drives all technology for the business, analyzes business trends, and translates insights into actionable innovation strategies and pilot projects. Daily activities include facilitating workshops with stakeholders, preparing presentations and reports, tracking project milestones, stage-gates, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and troubleshooting technology challenges.
The role also involves collaborating with internal departments, client leadership teams, and external partners to evaluate technology development needs, measure program impact, and continuously improve innovation processes and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strategic planning and innovation skills, including experience developing program roadmaps, setting measurable objectives, and aligning initiatives with business goals.
- Working with Automotive OEM's to identify and grow technology programs, leading projects through stage gate from inception to delivery.
- Metal-forming and processing within an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier.
- Lead the strategic direction of the technology based on customers needs to ensure the business being pursued is profitable, obtainable, and has both short and long term positive impact on the business.
- Project and program management capabilities, such as managing timelines, resources, budgets, risks, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.
- Analytical and research skills, including market analysis, competitive intelligence, data interpretation, and the ability to translate findings into recommendations.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading meetings, workshops, and presentations for diverse stakeholder groups.
- Relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including collaboration with leadership, operational teams, and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Innovation, Strategy, or a related field; an advanced degree , Masters is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple initiatives, and adapt to changing business needs.
